Choosing the right position for your booth at a trade show in Europe

When you’ve made the decision to exhibit at a trade show, you might think that all you can do to attract attention to your specific booth is to make it stand out from the others by using lots of color, large banners and hanging displays. But there is so much more you can do to catch show visitors’ eyes. Your placement at the show can have a huge impact on whether you are noticed or not. We have accumulated 5 tips to help you choose the right position for your booth at a European trade show. So there is no way you can be overlooked.

  1. Pick a position near the entrance of a trade show

A booth near the entrance generates more traffic than one located all the way at the back. There, the likelihood increases of visitors running out of time, feeling tired or overwhelmed. This might result in them not reaching your booth. And that’s quite the opposite of what you want at a trade show. Therefore, a position near the entrance is always preferable.

  1. Choose one of the main aisles for your booth

The main aisles are where the highest traffic will be. So obviously, that’s where you want to be as well! The more the merrier, right? Having large amounts of visitors near your booth will increase your chances of getting noticed and having potential clients coming to your stand.

  1. Find out where popular exhibitors are located

Positioning your booth next to popular exhibitors or industry leaders can help draw attention from their visitors and increases the exposure of your brand. You can tap into their audience and – in the case of industry leaders – reach potential customers who are already interested in products or services similar to yours.

  1. Select a passageway to other areas of the trade show

Just like having a booth along the bustling main aisles, getting a position at a passageway to other areas of the trade show gives you an ongoing stream of visitors near your booth. And while they’re there, they might as well pay you a visit!

  1. Check where your competitors are – and stick with them

Seems counterintuitive? We understand that you want to stand out. And therefore, it sounds like you should stay as far away from other businesses like your own as possible. Because then visitors will take note of you more easily, right? They won’t be distracted by others with a similar product or service. So they’re more likely to choose you! But hear us out. By positioning yourself near your competitors, there’s a high likelihood that visitors will also come to explore your booth. So you can actually benefit from the traffic they attract as well!
